IELTS Preparation

Course Content
IELTS Preparation is a course designed for people who may be required to demonstrate that they have a sufficient level of proficiency in English by taking the IELTS examination. The IELTS course will enable participants to develop the four language skills (listening, reading, writing and speaking) to assist them in taking the IELTS test. Most importantly, there will be practice of the IELTS sample tests which helps student be familiar with the requirements and the test format.
Speaking
Providing personal information, Identifying or requesting clarification, Giving in-depth responses, Analyzing issues, Discussions, etc.
Describing facts and figures – charts, tables, diagrams, Describing trends - graphs, explaining the axis, Summarising data – selecting important information, comparing data, Planning and structure of writing– organizing ideas, draft of plan, the introduction of the main body, the conclusion, Introducing topics and main ideas – expressing views, defining or explaining, Developing an argument – making the argument clear and supporting it with evidence, etc.

Writing

Predicting content from titles, headings, sub-headings, paragraphs’ scanning for specific information, Skimming for general information, Identifying main and supporting ideas, Improving reading skills – strategies for dealing with unfamiliar vocabulary, Understanding cause and effect relationship; Identifying opinion or attitude and making inferences – fact, opinion or claim, etc.
